Nightingale School has been participating in the GLOBE project for the
past several years. Students gather real information on weather, soil and
water in their community. Some students collect weather information almost
daily at a weather station just outside the Nightingale building. The upper
grade students travel to Marquette Park. We have established a site and have
agreed to collect water and soil samples monthly during the spring and early summer. Students
analyze the information they collect and send it to scientists
located world wide. Those scientists are using the information collected
by our students to study environmental changes taking place in our community.
