National Board Certification 2011

Dear Principal:

We’re pleased to announce that recruitment for next year’s National Board Certification (NBC) process is now open!

Research by The Chicago Public Education Fund suggests that schools with 15% or more of their faculty who are National Board Certified see school-wide gains in student achievement.  Our records show that 5-10% of your teaching faculty has achieved NBC – congratulations!  If you can recruit just a few more candidates and support them in achieving NBC status, your school would be in a position to achieve significant gains in overall student performance.  

Our previous survey shows that 94% of National Board candidates have reported that the process has had a positive impact on their teaching practice.  If you have other talented teachers in mind who might be interested in pursuing National Board Certification, encourage them to attend one of the following information sessions:
